Graduate Certificate in Workforce Development at Northeastern University
In September 2010, the Northeastern University’s College of Professional Studies will launch the second year of the Graduate Certificate in Workforce Development in partnership with the Commonwealth Workforce Coalition (CWC).
This unique program was developed in response to a demonstrated need in Massachusetts for graduate-level education in this growing field.

Green Sector Alert: SkillWorks Releases a Call for Green Sector Concept Papers
Skillworks is looking for new or existing workforce partnerships and/or research projects in particular green industries for potential SkillWorks' funding.
Concept papers will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, anytime from July 22, 2010 through August 31, 2010.

JVS Announces Info Sessions for "Caring for our Seniors: a CNA training program specializing in long-term care"
JVS is excited to announce that they will be offering another weekly information session for their “Caring for our Seniors: a CNA training program specializing in long-term care”. In addition to weekly Wednesday information sessions at 12:00pm sharp they will also be running information sessions every Monday at 9:30am sharp. Below is an updated flyer with the additional information session specifics.

DTA Announces Policy Change: SNAP Eligibility for Certain Community College Students
This policy change allows low-income students to be eligible for SNAP (food stamp) benefits without needing to meet other eligibility criteria previously needed to qualify for SNAP benefits.

JVS Announces New CNA Training Program
JVS is excited to announce that we are beginning a new training program, in partnership with the American Red Cross entitled “Caring for our Seniors: a CNA training program specializing in long-term care”. This training program replaces the current Medical Office program and will train participants to work as certified nursing assistants in long-term care settings. The program will help immigrants and others with a passion for working with elders to enter the health care field. Participants will learn computer and language skill development, customer service, and to prepare for and pass the CNA certification exam. JVS has strong relationships with employers in long-term care to assist graduates in securing employment in the field.
This is a 14 week full-time program starting on July 26, 2010. JVS will run weekly information sessions on Wednesdays at noon for potential applicants. Please download the program flyer for more information.

Announcing a New CWC - NEHRA Partnership
The Commonwealth Workforce Coalition (CWC) is very pleased and excited to announce our new partnership with the Northeast Human Resources Association (NEHRA)!
